victories, Sur La Tete
is drivingtowards becoming one of steeplechase
racing's all time greats.
A 1998 Kentucky
Bred, from Rutledge Farm, Sur La Tete is
the Classic Winner of the 2004 Georgia Cup
and the Meadow
Brook Stakes (the first and third
legs of 2004's Steeplechasing Triple Crown),
the 2005
Iroquois Steeplechase, the 2006
Iroquois Steeplechase (the USA's
longest Steeplechase distance), the 2006 Royal Chase, and
numerous other graded stakes races. Steeplechasing's
Leading Earner of 2004, Sur La Tete is also
a runner up for the Thoroughbred
Racing Associations' 2004, 2005, and 2006 Eclipse Award
(Steeplechase), and was awarded
the 2003 NSA Novice Championship.
Another history
making champion bred by Rutledge Farm, Sur
La Tete's 2004 Meadow Brook Stakes win handily
set a new Belmont
Park 2 1/2 mile course record.
Sur La Tete
is by Sky
Classic, who Bloodhorse.com lists as
one of 2004's top 100 sires (by Winners,
by 2
Y-O Stakes Winners, by Graded
Stakes Winners, and by G1
stakes winners). Another record
setting athlete (multiple course records),
Sky Classic received a 1992 Eclipse Award
(Male Turf), as well as being a
Champion Turf Male in the U.S. and Canada,
Champion Older Male in Canada, and Champion
2-Year-Old in Canada.
